Technical Support Services
Candesco provides a broad range of technical support services including:
Software Engineering
- Safety critical software support: verification and validation, including design reviews, integration and unit testing.
- Software assessments and categorization with respect to nuclear safety, in support of engineering changes.
- Configuration management, defect tracking and management.
- Software lifecycle development, staff and tool qualification and training.
- System requirements definition and documentation.
Operations Support
- Alignment of existing operating documentation with operating policies and procedures, final safety analysis reports and the examination of station system design and operational processes.
- Facilitating the closure of a backlog of operating and safety & licensing issues.
- Hardware and software expertise for DCC's and safety system trip computers, including safety classification.
- Application of DCC operating/maintenance experience to DCS design. Design of DCC hardware site replacement strategies.
- Full scope simulator training and development.
- DCC commissioning, optimization and operational support with hardware and software QA expertise.
Engineering Support
- Engineering analysis, including assessment of design as it pertains to nuclear safety, licensing and operability.
- System design requirements design basis reconstitution and documentation.
- Preparation of human factors engineering project plans.
- Candesco provides integration support to Bruce Power's Nuclear Safety Analysis and Support Department.This involves managing the flow of technical information between Bruce Power and external service providers and development of information management tools and processes to integrate many diverse nuclear safety analysis projects.
- Candesco staff has provided key support functions in AECL's Advanced Candu Reactor (ACR) program. This has included involvement in many development activities including performance of a design assessment to ensure that the ACR addresses current federal regulatory issues.
