Julie West Senior Analyst B.Sc., P.Eng.

Julie West began her work in the nuclear industry in 1993 while still engaged in her undergraduate studies, and has experience in licensing CANDU reactors, developing and implementing quality business processes and performance management measures; authoring procedures, processes, operating manuals, training manuals and analysis reports; commissioning IT business solutions and nuclear process systems; coordinating projects and leading teams to achieve results; and, establishing nuclear operational parameters and controls based on safety and design criteria.

In 1994, Julie completed her BSc. in Chemical Engineering – Nuclear and Power Plant Option at the University of New Brunswick and began her career at AECL. She spent four years working in safety and design analysis and two years as a commissioning engineer for a medical isotope facility. Julie joined Candesco in 2001 and subsequently spent three years at Ontario Power Generation developing and implementing business processes and IT tools with respect to the new Ontario wholesale electricity market.

Currently, Julie is a Senior Licensing Analyst for AECL’s Advanced CANDU Reactor (ACR). Julie is a registered professional engineer with Professional Engineers Ontario.
