Licensing Analyst Position 

Duties:

Perform licensing activities for Canadian and international nuclear organizations and facilities, including but not limited to nuclear power generating and research facilities, nuclear waste projects, and government agencies.

A successful candidate must be able to work in a team environment as well as independently, and be able to function in a technical integration role among a variety of groups. The successful candidate needs to have competent technical and organizational skills to understand, track and facilitate the resolution of a variety of licensing issues. Specifically, this includes planning and implementing licensing strategies, liaising with clients and regulatory agencies; preparing licensing documentation and ensuring appropriate quality assurance standards are maintained throughout all activities.

Qualifications

  • Must have a science or engineering degree, with five years or      more of relevant experience. Candidates with less experience      may be considered.
  • Must have strong written and verbal communication skills to      effectively communicate with clients, team members, regulatory      agencies, and/or the public. Strong written skills are also      required for the preparation of licensing and/or technical      documents.
  • Must be familiar with the Canadian nuclear regulatory      environment, including the CNSC guidelines and standards.
  • Must be able to work in a project driven environment with the      capability to meet deadlines, work under pressure, and within      project constraints (time, cost, quality).
  • Must be able to plan, organize and prioritize assigned work, and      to coordinate multiple activities efficiently.
  • Must have a strong attention to detail and to quality assurance      requirements.
  • Must be motivated by working with engineering professionals      committed to producing timely and high quality technical work.
  • Other
  • Professional designations (PEO, PMP) are an asset.
  • An understanding of CANDU technology is an asset.
  • Language skills other than English are an asset.
  • Advanced information research capabilities are an asset.
