Direction of the R&D and Regulatory Affairs Programs for CANDU Owners Group Inc.

Senior Candesco staff were instrumental in the establishment and management of the Regulatory Affairs program at the CANDU Owners Group (COG). The intent of the program is to assist the COG Members to adopt, where possible, common strategies and plans for the resolution of regulatory issues related to nuclear safety and the environment. Candesco provided the personnel that created the program and subsequently developed it into an effective contributor to industry efforts in dealing with regulatory issues. Candesco staff acted on behalf of COG as liaison to the Canadian Nuclear Association Regulatory Affairs Committee and the Canadian Standards Association. Candesco's support also included the management of the COG R&D program, Nuclear Safety Committee and the Nuclear Environmental Affairs Committee.
