Licensing of the Bruce A Restart Project

Candesco provided management of both the safety analysis and the regulatory interface for the Bruce A Restart project. Candesco team members also providing senior technical review, oversight and technical specialist support to the project. The Canadian Nuclear Society awarded the J.S. Hewitt Team Achievement Award to this project.

Prior to the commencement of the safety analysis program, Candesco produced the strategic document which identified licensing and regulatory issues to be resolved as part of the restart analysis and a plan for addressing these issues. In addition, during the analysis phase, Candesco staff played a central role in supporting the licensee interface with the staff of the CNSC, including support for the Commission hearings. Candesco also successfully managed the coordination and resolution of regulatory issues, which arose during the process of obtaining license approval to restart Bruce A Units 3&4.
