Bruce A Restart Safety Analysis (BARSA) Project

Candesco staff have undertaken the responsibility of Technical Manager on several important safety analyses undertaken in the Canadian nuclear industry. The Bruce A Restart Safety Analysis (BARSA), which was a key aspect of the safety case for returning Units 3 and 4 to service, was performed under the technical management of Candesco staff.

Candesco staff also acted in project integration roles in Bruce A Restart Safety Analysis. Project integration consists of maintaining coordination across the breadth of a complex, technical activity. A project integrator works closely with the technical manager to ensure efficient communication interfaces with service providers, customers, stakeholders, and specialists. An important aspect of project integration is the establishment and management of processes for issue identification, tracking and resolution. Effective issue management helps ensure a robust safety and licensing case.
